Full Fee Reimbursement for A Category (Convener Quota) from 2008-09 for all Minority Students whose Parent/Guardian Annual Income below Rs. 1.00 Lakh (Income certified by Tahsildar)

Thanks for over whelming response for Pre Matric Scholarship of Government of India, more than 1.5 Lakhs applications have been received which are being processed.

The last date for receipt of application under Postmatric scholarships of Government of India is 30-09-2008

The last date for receipt of application under Merit cum means based scholarship of Government of India is 30-09-2008

The last date for submission of filled in application forms for Pre Matric scholarships of State Government is 31-08-2008

The last date for submission of filled in application forms for Post Matric scholarships of State Government is 30-09-2008.

Eligible Minority Students pursuing Professional & Non Professional courses in Government, Universities, Private aided and Private Un-Aided Institutions shall be sanctioned Post Matric Scholarship and Tuition Fee Reimbursement on par with Social Welfare Department.

The Colleges/Management shall not collect tuition fee from the eligible Minority students for renewal as well as fresh students. The Department will reimburse the Tuition fee to the Colleges/Management concerned.

GUIDELINES

1. Good news for Minority students pursuing education from Class I up to X (Pre matric)

 Object

                  The Scholarship will be awarded for studies in India in a government or private school from class I to class X, including such residential Government institutes and eligible private institutes selected and notified in a transparent manner by the State government and Union territory Administration concerned.

 Rate of Scholarship

          Actual financial Assistance will be provided for admission/tuition fee and maintenance allowance as given below subject to maximum ceiling indicated against item concerned:

*Hostellers include students who are studying in hostel of the School/Institute concerned or those provided by the State Government/Union territory Administration concerned.

 Eligibility

           Scholarship will be awarded to the students who have secured not less than 50% marks in the previous final examination and annual income of their parents/guardian from all sources does not exceed Rs. 1 lakhs.

 Selection: Students from BPL families, having the lowest income shall be given preference in the  Ascending order.

 Conditions for scholarship

                                        I.      Scholarship will be available to the students of Minority community studying in classes I to X. The continuance of award will be subject to securing 50% marks in previous examination. Maintenance allowance will be provided to hostellers and day scholars.

                                     II.      The award will be discontinued if a student fails to secure 50% marks in the annual examination except in case of unavoidable reasons to be certified by the principle/ competent authority of the school and recommended by the State Government/Union territory Administration.

                                   III.      Scholarship will not be given to more than two students from a family.

                                   IV.      Students should be regular in attendance for which the yardstick will be decided by the competent authority of the school.

                                      V.      Income certificate should be on self-certification basis by way of affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper of self-employed parents/guardian and from employer for employed parents/guardian.

                                   VI.      The School/Institute will certify the claim of students of being an outstation student not residing in hostel of the school/institute concerned on the basis of permanent address and parents address.

                                 VII.      Migration of students from one school/institute to another would not normally b during the course of academic year except under exceptional circumstance and in the interest of students academic career.

                              VIII.      If student violates school discipline or any other terms and conditions of the scholarship. Scholarship may be suspended or cancelled. The State Government/Union Territory Administration can also directly cancel the award if duly satisfied of the reasons of violation of these regulations governing the scheme.

                                   IX.      If a student is found to have obtained a scholarship by false statement, his/her scholarship will be cancelled forthwith and the amount of the scholarship paid will be recovered, at the discretion of the concerned State Government/Union Territory Administration.

                                      X.      As the number of scholarships for minorities available in a year is fixed and limited it is necessary to lay down preference for selection. Inter-se selection weightage is to be given to poverty rather than marks.

                                   XI.      30% of Scholarship will b earmarked for girl students. In case sufficient number of eligible girl students are not available, then the balance earmarked scholarships may be awarded to eligible boy students.

                                 XII.      Maintenance allowance will be credited to the students bank account and fee reimbursement will be credited to the institute bank account

Note : Application in the prescribed format along with requisite documents should be submitted to the Dedicated Cell, Government of India Scholarships, C/o. A.P. State Minorities Finance Corporation, 6th floor, A.P.Haj House, Nampally, Hyderabad, through the Head of the School.

Post Metric Scholarship will be sanctioned to the Economically Backward Minority students whose parents/guardians annual income does not exceeds Rs 1 lakh per annum. The post metric scholarship will be sanctioned to the minority students of Intermediate, Graduation, Post Graduation and Professional Courses as follows:

Eligibility Criteria

1.

Post Metric Scholarship & Fee reimbursement will be sanctioned to the Economically Backward Minority students

2.

Whose parents / guardians annual income does not exceeds Rs 1 lakh.

3.

If the distance between the residence of the student and institution is below 5 KM Scholarship will not be sanctioned.

4.

If the distance is above 5 KM it will be treated as Student Managed Hostel and Scholarship will be sanctioned as per SMH rate.

Fee Reimbursement will be sanctioned to all the Students irrespective of distance whose parents income does not exceed Rs 1 lakh on par with social welfare department.

6. The Scholarship amount shall be disbursed to the students who put in 75% attendance in normal time
